Don't know what model you have, or whether mine is the same, but my NWT has
two packing pegs, too.  The shorter one is, as mentioned, for the drop-out
next to the derailleur (hitting the top of the suitcase).  The longer goes
into the back of the seat tube (not the folding part, but the stationary
part between the top tube and the bottom bracket) and hits the end of the
suitcase, protecting it from being chewed up by the chainwheels.

As I said, I don't know if this applies to your Friday.
