I carry a piece of coat hanger bent into an S shape
with the ascender part of the S about an inch and a
half long and the loops of the S are about 1/2 inch in
diameter so that it looks like an elongated S. It is
very handy for lifting a chain back on and is very
light weight. It goes into my under seat bag along
with other tools. I also carry a pair of nitrile
gloves for working on the bike on the road. IMO
nitrile is stronger than the other types of gloves and
last longer. Put a little powder in them when you put
them in your tool kit.
