Brad,
I do something similar. Here's an example:
Say I set my reading to 133 in my Cateye (Mity8) for my 16" wheels.
I go and do a twelve mile check against mile markers:
Mile markers = 12.0 miles
Odometer = 12.84 miles
12.84 = X% of 12.0
X% = 12.84/12.0
X = 107.25 % which means I'm registering 107.25% of what I should be.
Then the formula to get the correct mileage becomes 133 = 107.25% of X (X
being what it should be)
Solving for X we get X= 133/107.25%
X = my new setting of 124
Proof
124 (times) 107.25 = 133 (rounding)
Yup, then I go out and compare it to the mileage markers again.
