[Yak] Help me spec a NWT?

This post is sort of a follow up to my other thread titled "Equip for bike
only life"

Help me spec a NWT for car free lifestyle?

Do i want internal gearing? Or conventional derailleur setup? Is a
derailleur only setup more robust and easier to care for if problem
develops?

Also.... do i want one wheel with a generator hub? Or should lights be
external only such as the LED models that clip onto helmet?

In other words....help me spec an NWT that is as robust and simple as
possible? Tell me what works and what doesn't work for making an NWT a major
means of daily transportation OK?

I'm reminded abt the saying that says "perfection is achieved by taking
things away... not by adding things"
