[Yak] Headlights and reflectors

In an earlier post I mentioned that one only needed a
front reflector in California. I was dead wrong as
another subscriber was kind enough to point out. You
need a light that is visible 300 feet in front of you.
Note, it doesn't have to illuminate 300 feet, just be
visible. The vehicle code doesn't mention flashing
lights, and I don't know how someone would interpret
that silence. The section does say that the light must
illuminate the road in front of the cyclist, so it
would be possible that someone could interpret that to
mean that a flashing light didn't do the job. I still
like a flashing light to the front to attract
attention. I guess I will need to add another light to
the front to continuously illuminate.
