[Yak] Maui accommodation

Aloha Lutz,
 we have had two wonderful stays in a B & B "upcountry" in the Kula/Pulehu area. The name is Kili's Cottage and, while the refrigerator is fully equipped for breakfast, you actually have a three bedroom, two bath house all to yourself; the owner lives across a canyon (you can wave to her) and is accessible if needed.  When we were last there, about 3 years ago, the cost was $105.00 per night; there is probably no equivalent accommodation at the price any place in the Pacific, much-the-less in the Hawaiian Islands.

You need a car but the location is 15 minutes from Paia, 10 minutes from the start of the winding road up Haleakala, 15-20 minutes from Kahului and Wailuku.

In Paia stop at the Cakewalk Bakery for the best pastries and sandwiches on the islands. Tell Heidi that I sent you.
