=v= I have to admit I'm fuzzy on what your point is here. Some
plastics "degrade" quickly under various conditions, but that
doesn't mean that what's left is harmless, nontoxic, and have
no impact on the ecosystem.

=v= Brass bottles (e.g. SIGG) and enamel-lined ones are also
good. Their impact is determined in part by how long they
last, so take good care of them!
