Hello Mark
I just spent 10 days in the area between San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara.
Solvang was great riding. Be sur to check out the Bulldog coffee shop. Besides
superb coffee, it was the hangout of Lance and Discovery team for two years
while training in the area. Some nifty pictures.
If you get up to Arroyo Grande (another really neat town), be sure to ride up
Huesna road. It is on my list of some of my all time favorite rides.
Santa Ynez area has fabulous rides, and if you like thoroughbred horses,
arabians, etc. you are in for a real treat as there are many famous ranches.
Los Olivos is a trendy little village with the coffee shops etc. You can be
prepared for some rollers, some longer steeper climbs, but if you aren't in a
hurry you'll do them all. If you're good at googling, there are may routes on
the local club web sites as someone else mentioned. You'll never regret going to
this area.
