[Yak] airline charges

I usually e-mail the airline before purchasing tickets asking specifically whether a folded bike or travel bike in a flight legal suitcase will be charged extra and write that my choice of airline is dependent on their answer. When I get the answer I like, I print it out and bring it with me during check-in.

Subject: [Yak] airline charges
Has anyone printed out the airline's baggage rules and fees, highlighted the relevant sections, and then showed them to the ticket agent in order to convince them that a bike in a suitcase (under 62") should not be charged the same fee as a bike in a box (62"<box<~110")?
