I love my Tikit but there's a big gap between it and a real road bike. For
bike/train commuting with a only a few miles to ride per day the Tikit is
unbeatable but 10 miles or so is as far as I would want to ride on it.

I find that a little surprising - The only Tikit I have ridden was the one Lynette brought on her tour downunder, and it was a nice ride, and not much difference than my Pocket LLama (which, although no road bike, is certainly good to ride for much more than 10 miles).
That was an upgraded Tikit (Capreo, Stelvio, Bar Cons etc which makes it similar to an Express Tikit) - what Tikit do you have?
also, is your opinion based on an uncomfortable fit (because the Tikits are not custom sized?), the 16" wheels too harsh, inadequate gearing, or some other reason?
Thanks,
Hobby
