I have drove in Paris/Milan/Geneva etc.,
After driving in the US for 30+ years I have found the drivers in europe to be much safer (and very attentive to bicyclists). I had absolutely no problem driving in any western european country. The only problem that I ever witnessed were the drivers in the Pyrenees who couldn't figure out which side of the street to drive on when there were not any stripes on the road. The only problem I had in Paris was the parking.
Now if you want to take about drivers go to Russia, especially Vladivostok.
I live in Los Angeles........the moronic driver capital of the US. I have never witnessed an assemblage of inattentive drivers anywhere like here (and I have lived here 45 years) except for Russia..........but then again China is getting bad and I have yet to go to India.
I face more danger every day, here in LA, than in all of the months that I have spent riding in Spain, Italy, France, Switzerland.
