[Yak] Quick Release Pedals

Dear Yaksters,

For a long time I've been on the lookout for a decent platform pedal  
that would either fold or be quick release.

Awhile ago I bought a pair of MKS Promenade Ezy pedals which are quick  
release but was disappointed when they arrived that they were so short  
as well as fairly narrow. Not something that would fit with my size 12  
sneakers.

So I have been using Wellgo B37 platform pedals and taking along a  
pedal wrench when folding was a necessity.

Then I ran across the MKS Grip King pedals on the Rivendell site and  
thought to myself that it was an interesting design even though it did  
not have quick release. But I also noticed how closely the body  
resembled the MKS Promenade Ezy and I speculated that the Promenade  
Quick release axle might fit the Grip Kings.

Long story short I ordered a pair of Grip Kings and succeeded today in  
switching the axles.

It's a perfect pedal for travel. IMHO (the Grip King Promenade)

I have been in touch with the designer of the pedal, Grant, the owner  
of Rivendell, and have asked him about the possibility of having the  
pedal produced by MKS since it would not require retooling, only  
revised assembly.

I'd be curious to know many others would be interested in a pedal like  
this. I will relay the count to Grant.

Perhaps we could muster a bulk order. I know I could use them on 5 of  
my other bikes.

conversion.
