[Yak] Old VWs

I bought a new and more powerful 1966 Bug. That was the first year with the more powerful 40HP engine.

It would cruise all day on CA highways at 72MPH, but it got only 24MPG doing it.

One of the best cars I have owned (right up there with my '74 Alfa Romeo),  but it was a bit small by the time our daughter got to age 2. 

It was a basic version of the '07 Toyota Yaris Liftback we currently use around town (40MPG @ 70MPH).

Oh, the price of that new '66 VW?  $1,976 out the door!!!
