Amen! And you can then be confident riding in locations (like heavy 
traffic..) where you would not trust the skills of a 12-year-old. And 
you avoid problems with one of you (could be either!) having more 
speed or endurance than the other. And you will be within 
conversational distance of each other at all times when riding. Etc. Etc. Etc.
