Ever been to Ireland? Lonely Planet has a good book out entitled "Cycling
Ireland" that lays out several routes, as well as recommendations for
accomodations, sites to see, and the like.
I can send a few pics of my last trip if you like.

Subject: [Yak] August 08 bike tour - Suggestions?
We are a family of four (including two teenagers) who have taken some
great trips on our NWT bikes over the past couple of years. Last
summer we went on a 12 day, self supported tour of the Netherlands and
then a 9 day, Iron Donkey arranged, self supported tour of southwest
England.
We are now planning our trip for next summer. We have the dates from
August 1 to August 23 open. We can go nearly anywhere that is good
for cycling that time of year. We learned in the Netherlands that we
prefer small hotels to camping – mostly because we don’t want to carry
all the equipment but also because of comfort. We could go supported
or unsupported next summer. The main reason to go supported, if we do
so, would be for a guide’s background in local culture and history.
So, two questions.
Does anyone have suggestions on a particularly good place to tour
during the summer?
We are considering CZ Euro Tour http://www.czeurotour.com/ to plan our
route and package our reservations. They have an 18-day, self
supported trip from Prague through Vienna to Budapest that looks good
and is reasonably priced. We have not committed to this yet. Does
anyone have experience with this company? Or bicycling this part of
the world in August?
Thanks in advance for your responses.
Regards
Beth and Will
