Ahhh ... that makes a lot more sense Chuck.  If it matters, I like to call it a swan stem -- if it is the lightweight version that BF makes for a bike -- or a stem post if an Ahead-type stem is attached.

Does anyone have a Two'sday?  

Is there really a $700 price difference between a similarly spec'ed Two'sday and XL?  YIKES.  I am just guessing from the minimum base price between the two models -- in case someone is interested, I just went to the pages linked on the bike friday tandem primer page.
