I had a Two'sDay with drop road bars fitted out originally with cantilever
brakes that I changed out almost immediately to Tektro V Brakes and the
Dia-Comp V-Brake Levers. All went well for almost 8 years and by then I had
all my other bikes converted to moustache bars. Finally my neck was giving
out with road bars and I had Rivendell drop ship a set of moustache bars to
Bike Friday and they split them for me for easier packing. The setup worked
just fine with the Dia-Comp V-Levers and Tektro V-Brakes. Hated to have to
sell the rig recently. I still have 2 bikes with the m-bars and a Bike
Friday metro with the Rivendell Dove bar - similar to the moustache but even
more upright and like the bikes or yore.

I guess the splitting of the moustache bars could easily be done in
Portugal. I'm sure Bike Friday could tell you the process.
