Neat technique unless the hub has more holes because you double the 
number yourself by drilling a new hole between every pair of holes. 
Then the holes in the flanges are directly opposite one another 
rather than offset and you must add a correction for that. Only works 
with a rather large flange though, otherwise the holes are too close 
together..

I once drilled a 36-hole Atom drum brake to 72 holes and then used 2 
of 3 holes with a 48-hole rim. The offset in that case was small 
enough that I could ignore it.
