Hi-
Since the negative-to-positive ratio on this thread is so high I'm going to add a note to the positive side to balance the scales a bit.
Last winter I bought a used DoubleDay- the fairly rare and now out-of-production recumbent tandem model of which fewer than 100 were made. I bought it directly from the previous owner, and sight unseen. Green Gear didn't see Dollar One from the transaction.
Yet when I discovered that a critical component was too small for me, they were more than responsive in committing to support my needs. For a VERY modest price I received a replacement part in the size I needed, painted to match my bike. They had all the specs on file, so they knew exactly what I needed.

I have not had a lick of trouble with my New World Tourist, which I bought new from GG through my local shop in August 2007. It was a MUCH less costly custom bike than any of the alternatives I considered, and is every bit as comfortable and responsive as my much-loved and now-lamented former touring bike. It fits in a regular suitcase, which is something that is not true of S&S coupler-equipped diamond frame bikes. The larger wheels necessitate a larger case.
