I tried slime for a while, on a commuter bike, and old touring
bike with 27 x 1 1/4 tires.
It didn't really seal the holes. It just made them slow leaks
instead of fast leaks.
It tends to ooze out of the holes that need patching, making it
difficult to patch.
It tended to clog the valve. It made it hard to open the valve
to inflate, then made it not seat well, another slow leak.
Eventually, the nut on one valve broke off, so I couldn't open
the valve to inflate it. (end of one)
Eventually, a road hazard made a gash. Nothing will protect
against this, but the slime spurted out and spread all over,
making a big mess. (end of the other)
I now use an old mountain bike with knobbies (2.1") as a
commuter. It is much better at avoiding flats.
