Michael,
Yes, there is a hostel at Sandy Hook, MD, on the same side of the river 
as the trail.

However, the hostel I am recommending is another one and is in Harpers 
Ferry. It is not part of any hostel network and doesn't bill itself as a 
hostel -- it's called The Town's Inn. However, it has the shared space 
features of a regular hostel with lots of amenities that make it much 
more comfortable and homey. And, it's right in town.

BTW, we called the other hostel before discovering the Town's Inn and 
got no answer, ever. I don't know what's up with it.
