Pedalers Pub & Grille is once again offering our special Bike Friday 
tour in Thailand.  This year we are crossing the border and exploring 
parts of both northern Thailand and northern Laos. 

*Fridays in Thailand 2009 - Thai Lao Adventure*

The trip begins in December 2nd in Chiang Mai, Thailand and ends 18 days 
later in Vientiane, Laos. The first leg through Thailand heads north up 
towards the Golden Triangle and then down along the Mae Khong (most of 
you know may it as the Mekong River).  Part of this leg is similar to 
the last section of our previous Fridays in Thailand, but with different 
overnight stops and some newly discovered places to visit.  We also 
enjoy a couple of nights in unique lodges built in traditional hill 
tribe style, but featuring modern amenities.

We cross the border into Laos, where we swap our bikes for a boat 
traveling down the Mae Khong to Pak Beng.  From here we ride out through 
rural regions that don't see too many foreigners and consequentially 
have only simple guesthouses, but it is chance to see real life in 
Laos.  We'll enjoy another day by boat exploring inaccessible regions 
along the Nam Ou before reaching our layover in Luang Prabang.

After a free day in the colonial town of Luang Prabang, we will roll 
south through some of Laos most spectacular landscapes, towering 
limestone cliffs and lush forests, bedding down in small lodges and 
boutique resorts with the beautiful mountains just outside your 
windows.  Maybe enjoy a cooling float by inner tube down the Nam Lik 
before finishing up our trip in Vientiane.
