I don't recommend that. It doesn't protect the bike against baggage
mishanlers, it isn't easy for TSA to open and inspect, and you are
more likely to get charged with the high baggage fees that airlines
now charge. Shipping the suitcase to your destination via UPS or
Fedex probably will cost less thatn $50. You will have to find a
place willing to hold it till you arrive, but that shouldn't be much
harder than finding one at your trip start point.
