I have a Bike Friday folding rack on my NWT and I place the lock on  
top of the rack with the bar end facing forward and use a toe strap to  
hold the lock on the rack.  I can cinch it down very firmly and have  
never had any problem carrying it in this manner.  It will rattle a  
bit when going over hard bumps but that is it.  Of course if I have  
any thing else riding on the top of the rack, what ever that load is  
must be removed to get at the lock.
