I suspect it is for Left Fold bikes only - the video stated a date range for which the mod is good for

They also stated that if you had a Friday custom adjustable stem that it would not be a replacement.
I don't know if this is because there is something different about the base of the stem (headset size),
Or if it just because of a lack of a aheadset style stem (from the stem riser out to the bars).

Interesting - if I were multimodal commuting with my bike, it could be an option.  I'm not, though.

This is also the kind of stem tech that Dahon is using on their bikes.  Their folding stems had some
Trouble a while ago, and were subject to a recall.  The BF design does not look like it would have much trouble, because of the way it sockets in and raises up - there should not be any force on the hinge point itself.
