I always tour with a SQR tour (not slim). I use an eeePC, but a standard laptop should fit.

Never sure what it weights, less than 22lbs though.

I had a somewhat traumatic experience with my Pocket Llama and the Amtrak Cascades. With front and rear racks, folding stem, and drop bars, it barely fit in the compact oversized luggage area. I really had to wrestle with it. So in lieu of replacing my stolen-again tikit, I'm trying to think of other possibilities.
I need to take rain gear, toiletries, my Mac PowerBook 12" (1.18x10.9x8.6", 4.6#), maybe 4-5# of books, change of clothes, and some food. Should be under the 22# Carradice SQR bags require. I was thinking about the Slim model (10.24x11.42x5.91"), so if I turn the laptop perpendicular to the bike frame, it should be good.
So I ask ye with experience with these things: do you think it will work?
