[Yak] Part failure on NWT

Ok, the NWT is 17 years old, but still ...

Went to put it together after another airline trip and the seat post bolt broke, with one half still threaded into the receiving part of the assembly.  Thankfully, I had spotted a nearby bike store and they had a replacement seat post bolt, but still ... I guess too many assemblies and disassemblies in its 17-year history. 

The stem bolt also failed (got stripped) two years ago.  You would have thought I would check other bolts but n-o-o-o.  Anyhow, would I have seen anything, or should I have just replaced the seat post bolt on principle?
